Ministry Stories

FCA Volleyball Club Director Megan Laikin

Coaching with FCA Volleyball has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Being part of this ministry has allowed me to witness God’s hand at work in powerful and tangible ways — in the lives of our players, in their families, and even within my own heart. At FCA Volleyball, we remind our athletes that their worth isn’t determined by wins, losses, or statistics, but by who they are in Christ. Every practice, every huddle, and every conversation becomes an opportunity to speak truth, share God’s Word, and help them see themselves the way He sees them.

There have been so many moments where I’ve chosen a devotional topic unsure of how it would land, wondering if it would even resonate with the girls. Yet time and time again, God has shown me how He takes even the smallest or most unexpected message and uses it for His purpose. Without prompting, players will come up to me after practice and share that the devotional was exactly what they needed to hear. These moments remind me that it’s not my words or my ability that make the impact — it’s the Holy Spirit working through me, guiding every message and planting seeds in their hearts.

One of our athletes shared something that beautifully reflects what FCA Volleyball is all about:

“FCA has been such a welcoming club. From players ranging from beginners to those who have played for many years, every single person is kind and helpful — it truly feels like a family. The coaching staff is beyond amazing. Every coach has the same goal: to help players grow in volleyball. But most importantly, they are there to help us pursue a relationship with Christ.”

Hearing words like these reaffirms why we do what we do. FCA Volleyball isn’t just a place to learn about the game — it’s a space where young athletes can discover who God created them to be, both on and off the court. And as a coach, watching God shape their lives has been one of the most meaningful experiences I could ever ask for.
