FCA SPORTS

At FCA Sports, we understand the profound impact sports can have on a persons life. Simply put, we want to see lives transformed by an encounter with Jesus Christ through the environment of sports. FCA Sports provides exceptional sports experiences shaped by coaches and volunteers committed to helping athletes sharpen their skills while discovering truth, belonging and strength in something greater than themselves.

Marie Johnson

FCA SPORTS Director

I am blessed and excited to be joining FCA staff full time. I’ve been volunteering in the Homeschool Teams Ministry for five years as a soccer and basketball coach. Being a part of this ministry has brought me many wonderful opportunities to minister to teens, helping them see
their value in Christ.  I’m not only a coach; three of my six children have also been blessed by being involved with FCA. The opportunities for fellowship, service and growth in Christ that FCA provides coaches, athletes, families and communities is unlike anything I have been a part of before.

The opportunities for fellowship, service, and growth in Christ that FCA provides coaches, athletes, families, and communities are unlike anything I have been a part of before. This new chapter I am about to start will allow me to devote even more time to God’s work through this ministry. This new opportunity I have involves taking what I've been doing as a coach in the homeschool ministry and applying it to league and club sports in Harford County. I will have the opportunity to come alongside coaches and train them and give them resources to coach in a God-glorifying way; to help them provide a sports culture that is healthy and opposite of what the world holds out, and to share the gospel with coaches, athletes and parents. I will be able to engage, equip and empower coaches and athletes to be a vehicle of transformation in their communities.

Megan Laikin

FCA Club Volleyball Director

Megan Laikin is a former right-side hitter and team captain from Mount Saint Mary College in New York, where she developed a lifelong love for the game of volleyball. After coaching two seasons with NY Elite Volleyball Club in Poughkeepsie, she took a short break when she moved to Baltimore, MD—but God had a bigger plan in store.
In 2023, Megan felt a strong calling to return to coaching and joined FCA Volleyball Club as the Head Coach for the U16 team. Over the next two years, she fell in love with the mission of using volleyball as a way to encourage and equip young athletes—both in their sport and in their walk with Christ.
Now, Megan is stepping into a new and exciting chapter as the Director of FCA Volleyball Club. She has fully embraced God’s purpose for her life and is coming on board as full-time staff with FCA, committed to sharing the gospel and impacting lives through the sport she loves.
Megan is actively involved at Sovereign Grace Church, where her faith continues to grow and shape her leadership. When she’s not coaching, you’ll likely find her playing in local pickup games 4–5 times a week—staying connected to the game and always learning.
As both a coach and director, Megan is passionate about building strong players and even stronger people—young women who compete with joy, lead with character, and live with purpose rooted in Christ.
